Our Staff Reporter KHANEWAL - The death toll rose to 26 from the toxic liquor case, occurred in Chak 80/10R Pirowal, Khanewal. However, the police, other government agencies and hospital sources have confirmed only 21 deaths. Moreover, the Khanewal Saddar Police have registered three FIRs. According to detail, 26 people have lost their lives after taking poisonous liquor in village 80/10R Pirowal Khanewal while 3 different FIRs have been registered in the Saddar police station. The first FIR no 507/11,508/11 and 509/11 under section EM 3/4, 4/79 and 302/148. The police have arrested Muhammad Ali Kamboh and Masood alias Sooda and some other drug traffickers. DPO Waqar Abbasi has suspended the Saddar Police SHO and also directed the Saddar DSP to explain his position about this tragic and sad incident. The DPO also told the media that the district police had launched a crackdown on drug traffickers and absconding offender, and no one would be spared found responsible for this heartbreaking incident. People of the area, civil society and religious circles have demanded the DPO and RPO to take notice of the role of the Saddar DSP which is very doubtful and he had relations and contacts with criminals and drug traffickers of the area. The 26 people died in the incident are: Niaz alias Gopa s/o Iniyat Ali ,Nai r/o 80/10R, Shahzad s/o Boot Masih r/o80/10R, Hameed alias Meeda s/o Ahmad Nawaz Khokhar r/o 80/10R, Zahid Waseem s/o Ghulam Muhammad Dhuli Sial, Muhammad Akram s/o Shahadat Ali Gudgore, Muhammad Manzoor s/o Mahlay Khan Chughta, Rana Ghula Murtza alias Muno Khan s/o Ghulam Mustafa, Jamal s/o Ameer Sial and his real brother Muhammad Ashraf Gudgore Sial, Ghulam Shabbir s/o Sher Muhammad Dharoi, Muhammad Aslam s/o Nazir Ahmad, Muhammad Asif and his brother Mukhtar s/o Allah Bus Sial, Muhammad Altaf s/o Machiya Gudgore, Muhammad Akram s/o Muhabat Hussain Khokhar, Abid Hussain Nai all resident of Jinnah Colony, Pirowal, Muhammad Javid s/o Mazhar Hussain Dhudi r/o Chak No-84/10R, Ammir Masood s/o Muhammad Masood r/o Colony no-3 Khanewal, Qaisar Abbas s/o Noor Muhammad r/o 78/10R,Khan Baig s/o Allah Ditta khokhar r/o78/10R, Zahoor Ahmad s/o Manzoor Khan r/o Zahoor Abad Khanewal, Muhammad Aslam s/o Islkam Uddin r/o Hamaiyat Abad Khanewal, Muhammad Irsha S/o Nathay Khan, Muhammad Shafique s/o Naveed pathan, Muhammad Ishfaq Jatti and Muhammad Saeed are victims of poisonous liquor.
