Our Staff reporter SIALKOT - The water level was receding in River Chenab at Head Marala near Sialkot, after the re-closure of water by India in River Chenab towards Pakistan. The flow of water was 18,280 cusecs in Chenab at Head Marala. Earlier, the Chenab was in medium level flood two weeks ago with water level was 169,000 cusecs. The Irrigation Department officials said that India had again stopped water in Chenab towards Pakistan due to which water level was continuously receding in River Chenab and in Upper Chenab Canal and Marala-Ravi-Link Canal as well. They said that under the Indus Water Treaty, the India was bound to release as many as 56000 cusecs daily in River Chenab towards Pakistan. Meanwhile, the farmers have expressed grave concern over this situation and they have feared that this water closure would again badly affect the seasonal crops in Sialkot region and across the Punjab as well
