Rs.120m to be spent on the MBS launch ceremony

Rawalpindi: The government is all set to put extra burden on the shoulders of the public, as around RS 120 million will be spent on the launching ceremony of the Metro Bus Service.

According to sources, at present, the government has given approval to release more than 7 crore rupees from the National Treasury of Pakistan. The government has decided that approximately Rs 120m tax payer money would be spent on the launching ceremony of Metro bus Project.

Special Chartered Planes will be hired so that a successful Metro Bus project ceremony takes place for which invitations have been sent to the ambassadors of Turkey and China along with ambassadors of other countries.

The Punjab government will be using chartered planes to bring ambassadors of various countries to Rawalpindi for the ceremony. it has also been considered that various VVIP personalities will be issued air tickets for the chartered planes.

Three important meetings have also taken place at the Punjab Civil Secretariat that were attended by senior officials, in which Rawalpindi Metro bus project matters were consulted.

A Punjab Government spokesperson has said that preparations are underway to inaugurate the metro bus project on 10th May 2015.
