Imran to lead relief caravan of 300 truckloads

ISLAMABAD Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan is scheduled to lead a caravan of about 300 trucks loaded with various food items including clothes and medicine to Pakhtunkhwa on Monday for the flood affectees of Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Hazara and DI Khan divisions. The caravan namely 'the caravan of hope will start from I-11 Islamabad and volunteers from all walks of life, who have been billed as 'Ansars, will also join it. In a recently issued press release from the partys Central Secretariat, Islamabad on Friday, Imran Khan has made a clarion call to all and sundry who want to contribute their bit in this relief effort and be a part of this caravan if they so desire. The caravan will travel by motorway and branch off to its various destinations like Nowshera, Charsadda, Swat, Kohistan (Hazara), D.I.Khan and Mardan for reaching out to the flood victims of 11 districts. It may be pointed out that PTI Chairman has been working overtime for the last couple of weeks collecting donations for the flood affectees in cash and kind both from abroad as well inside the country. He is also attending telethons for the charity purpose. Imran Khan intends to lead similar caravans in southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan in a few days for which homework is being done. It is worth pointing out here that in the last five days Rs 20 crore have been collected by Imran Khan for the flood victims. Chairman PTI has an elaborate programme in his mind for solving the crisis created by the flash floods. Once the first phase of relief effort is completed, he intends to embark upon the rehabilitation plan of the flood victims, after gauging the actual losses that can only be known once the floodwater recedes completely.
