Noose being tightened around quacks


HAFIZABAD - The District Quality Control Board held a meeting has directed the district drug inspectors to conduct crackdowns on quacks and unregistered drugs sellers to save human lives.
The meeting which was chaired by Board Chairman Capt (r) Muhammad Asif, also directed the them to stop the sale of expired and spurious medicines. It was also attended among others by EDO (Health) Dr Asif Qadir Meer, drug inspectors Rana Muhammad Akram, Muhammad Arif, Dr Nusrat Abbas Sherazi and Board Secretary Miss Zainib considered the cases of 16 medical stores and decided to send eight of them to drug courts while 7 other drug sellers were given serious warning.
NEW AC: Ms Sadia Tehreem has been appointed as Assistant Commissioner Hafizabad in place of Mr Noman Hafeez who was promoted and posted as District Officer (Coordination) of Gujrat.
SPORTS: Sports festivals at union council, tehsil and district levels would start from January 16. In this connection, a meeting was held here under the chairmanship of Fakharul Islam Dogar, the additional collector of Hafizabad. It was attended among others by District Sports Officer Saifur Rehman, DO (Secondary School) Meher Shamshad, Tehsil Sports Officer Muhammad Majid, Pindi Bhattian TSO Nabeela Cheema and secretaries of all the union councils of the district.
The collector exhorted the secretaries to contact all the players of Kabaddi, cricket, football, volleyball, badminton etc. and motivate them to participate in the forthcoming festivals for their mental and physical growth and also to show their talents.
