TTP commander, two militants arrested in Mardan

MARDAN - Charsadda police have arrested an important TTP commander along with two other terrorists of the banned Tehrik and recovered a huge quantity of explosives from their possession, a police officer said on Saturday.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mardan Range, Saeed Wazir, addressing a news conference at his office on Saturday, he said that the Charradda police had arrested an important commander of TTP  Amanullah Alias Irfan Khorasani, the son of Abdul Raziq Shahbaz Khan Koroona.
He added that police also recovered 150-kg explosives, 100 meters prima card and 50 safety fuse from them.
Saeed Wazir also said the arrested commander was wanted to Charsadda police in different cases of terrorist including targeting the CNG station of Shakeel Khan for not paying him 5 million rupees extortion money.
"The arrested commander also blew up the government girls primary school Saminat, electricity tower and killed driver of one Mohammad Ali, a travel agent, for not paying him extortion money, killed ANP local leader Shahjehan, Mukarm Khan correspondent of Dewa radio, blew up Dando Pul check post in which head constable Ayaz was martyred.
He added that 5 million rupees award was announced for his arrest.
The DIG added that police also arrested two other important terrorists identified as Wasihullah alias Abubakar son of Alam Khan of Afghanistan and Rohullah son of Shamsur Rehman resident of Shahbaz Khan Koroona.
Saeed Wazir added that on receiving information about the entrance of the militants from tribal area to Charradda, the district police party raided the spot and arrested these terrorists.
AFGHANS AMONG 140 SUSPECTS HELD IN OPS
Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: At least 140 suspected people including Afghan nationals were arrested in search operations launched by police and security agencies in different areas of Peshawar, Nowhera and Kohat districts Saturday.
According to details, in Kohat at least 20 suspected people including six Afghan nationals were arrested in a search operation launched by police in different areas.
The search operation was carried out in the areas of Mian Ghaana Colony, Khawaja Abad, Afghan Mahajir Camp and Garrison College in which 20 suspicious people including six Afghans have been arrested.
Meanwhile, in Peshawar at least 85 suspected people including Afghan refugees were arrested during a search operation in different rural areas. Police and security agencies launched the search operation in Sokano, Khattako Pul, Badhaber and Mathraa localities.
The operation was launched on the directives of SSP Operations Najeeb Ur Rahman. The police said that stolen vehicles, arms and explosives were also recovered from the possession of the arrested people.
Similarly, the police held some 15 suspects including eight illegal Afghan refugees and 20 proclaimed offenders in a search operation carried out at Pabbi Circle in Nowshera district.
According to police, the detained suspects were wanted in various cases including murder, attempted murder and possession of illegal arms. Besides, arms, and 60 unregistered motorcycles were also received in the action.   
The operation was also conducted in the jurisdiction of the three police stations, Azakhel, Pabbi and Akbarpura.
