A youth shot dead his sister a few hours before her marriage over the dispute of doing her marriage first before his marriage, in village Veerwala, Satrah on Sunday.
Saadia (25) was sitting in her house in bridal dress just a few hours before the arrival of her Baraat. Meanwhile, Rab Nawaz quarreled with her over the issue and became infuriated. He opened fire on and killed her on the spot. Her hands decorated with Henna were filled with her blood.
All the arrangements were made and the wedding guests were present there to accord a warm welcome to the Baraat. Saadia breathed her last with her dreams. After the brutal murder, the wedding houses of both bride and groom became mourning places.
Bushra Bibi, a wedding guest, was also injured in the firing incident and admitted to Daska Civil Hospital in critical condition. Accused fled away from the scene. Saadia’s father Murad Ali told the police that the accused was infuriated because of delay in his marriage. He said that accused actually wanted to be married before the marriage of her sister thus he shot her dead. Satrah police have registered a case and shifted the dead body to Daska Civil Hospital for autopsy.
LIQUOR SEIZED: Police have seized 100 bottles of liquor to be sold to the people in Sambrial city, and arrested accused Ilyas Maseeh.
He told the police that he had brought the wine for New Year celebrations. Police registered a case and sent the accused behind bars.

Man butchers niece for ‘honour’

HAFIZABAD

A man allegedly axed his married niece in the name of honour in village Bhoon Ratta here on Sunday.
According to police source, deceased Shakeela Bibi had been married off to Javed Ahmad some years back. She, however, allegedly developed illicit relations with some young men of the village. Reportedly, her uncle Riaz Ahmad had advised her time and again to mend her ways but she lent deaf ear to his advice. On Sunday, they had some altercation over the issue. In the meanwhile Riaz got infuriated and alleged pounced upon her with a hatchet, killing her on the spot. The accused managed to escape from the scene after the offence.
The police have registered a case against the accused and shifted the dead body to the morgue for auto posy.
