Man awarded death on five counts



SARGODHA - Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Azam Rana on Monday awarded death sentence on five counts to a man, who killed five members of his own family, including his parents, for honour.
According to the prosecution, Sadam Hussain, a resident of 48/SB village, had axed his father Ghulam Rasool, mother Nooran, sister Nazia, nine-year-old nephew Gull Zaman and Raheela to death on April 10, 2011 over the suspicion that Nazia had illicit relations with a man, namely Zafar Iqbal, a resident of Chiniot.
The judge imposed a fine of Rs0.5million of the convict. The judge also awarded death sentence on one count to Zafar Iqbal and imposed a fine of Rs0.1million on him for being the main reason behind five murders.
Boy shot injured by class fellow: A boy shot injured his class fellow here at Government Higher Secondary School, tehsil Sahiwal on Monday.
According to the sources, a 9th class student, 15-year-old Muhammad Taqi, son of Muhammad Ismail of village Chah Malik wala, shot injured his class fellow 16-year-old Sana Ullah with 30-bore pistol after exchanging of harsh words over a minor issue.
The injured was shifted to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Sahiwal, where his condition is stated to be stable. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
