Bandits rob bank of Rs2m, injure guard

Five armed bandits shot at and injured a security guard and took away Rs2 million from the local branch of United Bank situated on Fatima Jinnah Road, the most congested area of the city on Tuesday.
As per details, robbers, riding two motorbikes, stormed into UBL Fatima Jinnah Road Branch. They held the staff and customers hostage and made off with Rs2 million. They also shot at and critically injured a security guard who attempted to overpower them. Meanwhile, hearing to the gunshot, people rushed to the scene and pelted on the fleeing robbers who retaliated with fires but they remained unscathed. The bandits made good their escape. The police reached the spot and initiated investigation while the injured guard was shifted to DHQ Hospital.
