PM asks provinces to implement NAP speedily

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while chairing a high-level meeting on Tuesday, reiterated his government’s resolve to wipe out terrorism and extremism from the country, asking the provincial governments to play proactive role in implementation of National Action Plan.
The fuel and energy crisis also came under critical review at the meeting which was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Premier Sharif expressed satisfaction over the petrol supply situation in the country and directed all the relevant ministries and departments to ensure seamless coordination to avoid such occurrences in future.
The Punjab chief minister apprised the prime minister of the progress made by the province in implementing the National Action Plan (NAP).
The prime minister said the government was committed to eradicating terrorism and extremism from the country and asked the other provinces to speed up the process of implementing this programme.
He said all the political parties had unanimously agreed on the 20 points of NAP and it was the responsibility of all the federating units of the country to implement it in letter and spirit.
