The TMA staff conducted a raid in Mohallah Hassan Town and sealed off six mini-factories which were extracting oil from the bones of dead animals. On the complaints of dwellers that foul smell emanating from the so-called factory had badly affected their health. Acting swiftly Tehsil Office (R) Ikram Ullah Sandhu and Inspector Khizar Virk raided the locality and sealed the factories. According to sources, the factories were being run by Muhammad Ashraf, Zulfiqar, Sikandar, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Amin and Khalid Mehmood and so far the TMA has failed to get register a criminal case under the PPC against the accused. The inhabitants of Mohallah Hassan Town have called upon the DCO Hafizabad to take strict action against the accused and criminal case should be registered against them. DE-SILTING: Acting DCO Safeena Siddique along with officers of TMA visited General Bus Stand, Mangat Road, Madhrianwala Road and other localities and directed the sanitary staff to prepare comprehensive plan for the de-silting of open drains and smooth flow of sewerage system in anticipation of upcoming monsoon rains. She has directed the TO (R) and Sanitary Inspector to direct the scavengers to improve sanitary conditions and warned that no negligence and slackness would be shown towards the work shirkers. Meanwhile, special Price Magistrates have challaned 49 shopkeepers during the past three weeks of the current month and have realised total fine of Rs43,000. The special Price Magistrates have warned the traders particularly those dealing in essential commodities to desist from fleecing the consumers by selling the items on the rates fixed by the District Price Control Committee otherwise they would be dealt with sternly. TRANSFERRED: DCO Capt (r) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal has been transferred with immediate effect and Safeena Siddique ADC has been assigned additional duty of DCO till the appointment of new DCO.
