Bilawal sets conditions for MQM coalition

KARACHI - PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday said MQM was keen to join the government in Sindh, but added that the party would have to address PPP’s reservations regarding controversial statements in support of martial law and the breakup of Sindh.
Also, Bilawal Thursday claimed that he has received threats from the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ). He tweeted that he would hold the Punjab government responsible for any attacks especially if they fail to act against the banned outfit.
PPP and MQM are currently engaged in talks for forging a coalition in Sindh, but neither of them has said a word as to what prompted them to engage in the process for having a fresh alliance, which does not seem necessary for the ruling party. Responding to a question via his twitter account, Bilawal said it might not be possible for PPP to ally with MQM and invite it to join the provincial government without retracting statements in support of martial law.
