ACE team to probe Rs100m embezzlement

Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Director Dr Irshad Ahmed constituted a committee to conduct an inquiry into the embezzlement of over Rs100 million in the purchase of medicines by the health department district Bhakkar.
The fact-finding committee, comprising of ACE Deputy Director Zahoor Nadeem Gondal, Assistant Director (Technical) Irfan Ahmed Bhutta and Bhakkar Circle Officer Ghulam Rasool will probe embezzlement allegations against Bhakkar Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Sultan Mehmood, DO Health Dr Mohammad Aslam and DDO Health Dr Khizer Mehmood Qazi. The action is taken on the reports sent by the Bhakkar DCO including audit reports in which misappropriation of funds had been declared.
According to the reports, the EDO and his subordinate officers allegedly embezzled over Rs100 million in the purchase of medicines for the health department Bhakkar.
