PESHAWAR: One cop was killed and two others injured when unknown armed men opened fire at police mobile here on Monday evening.

According to details, unidentified armed men sprayed bullets at police van when it was on routine patrolling at Ring Road in Shinwari Town of Peshawar.

One cop died on the spot in the assault while two others sustained wounds who were rushed to hospital for treatment.

The assailants fled the scene after the attack. The police cordoned off the area and launched search operation for the attackers.
