General Raheel Sharif pays farewell visit to PM Nawaz Sharif

A day prior to retiring as Chief of Army staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif paid a farewell visit to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Prime Minister house.

A statement released by the PM house said that the PM lauded the general’s services to the nation and extended wishes for his post retirement life and future endeavors.

Earlier this week, the Prime Minister has also hosted a farewell dinner for the COAS where he praised the latter as being one of the finest military leaders of his generation who greatly aided the country “Reclaim every inch of territory under our (Pakistan’s) sovereign control”

General Raheel Sharif is set to retire tomorrow, and will be replaced by Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa. General Zubair Hayat was appointed as the new Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC)

General Raheel Sharif also paid a farewell visit to Inter services intelligence (ISI) headquarters in Islamabad.  

The general lauded the services rendered by ISI in defense of the country and in Pak army’s efforts against terrorism.
