ISLAMABAD: The local court of Islamabad has adjourned the hearing of defamation case worth Rs 30 billion filed by PTI secretary general Jahangir Tareen against Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif till December 9.

Rs 30 billion defamation case against CM Punjab came up for hearing in the court of district sessions judge Kamran Basharat Mufti, today.

Zafir Khan Junior to Mustafa Ramday counsel for CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif appeared in the court.

He prayed the court that senior counsel could not appear before it due to his pre-occupation.

The court while adjourning the hearing of the case till December 9 issued orders for filing power of attorney.

It is pertinent to mention here that counsel for Jahangir Tareen has claimed that CM Punjab has leveled baseless allegations including loan written off of  millions of rupees against  Jahangir Tareen. CM Punjab is leveling new allegations against him intermittently which are defaming his client.

The counsel further told the court that notices have been sent to CM Punjab under section 8 but he has not apologized.  They further said that CM Punjab says that he has evidence despite the fact that NAB and all banks have produced no evidences Jahangir Tareen to prove the Chief Ministers claim.
