Flood affected residents of Kot Muhabbat village, Tehsil Pindi Bhattian, have expressed their resentment against the inordinate delay in the payment of financial assistance despite the lapse of one month.
According to Muhammad Saleem and Ghulam Sarwar of the village, they went from pillar to post for the financial assistance in lieu of damages caused by floods to their houses and crops as had been announced by the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister.
Neither ration nor eid gifts and financial help could be provided to them, they regretted. They further said that the Hafizabad DCO had ordered the Pindi Bhattian AC vide his office No. 6891 and 6892 dated September 26 for payment of compensation, but the officials of Pindi Bhattian Tehsil have not yet provided them with financial assistance. They said that they were passing their lives from hand to mouth and appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister, the DCO and Commissioner Gujranwala to order the Assistant Commissioner Pindi Bhattian for the provision of promised financial assistance to them immediately.
BLACK DAY: A rally was taken out by the citizens to observe Black Day to express their solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren who were groaning under the subjugation of Indian imperialist for the past 67 years.
The rally was led by National Commission for Human Development District Coordinator Muhammad Shahzad Bashir, District Education Officer Mian Imtiazul Haq and Riaz Ahmad Tarar and Riaz Ahmad Tarar General Secretary Punjab Teachers Union, large number of students, teachers and citizens.
A seminar was also held in Jinnah Hall where the speakers strongly condemned the oppression let lose by the Hindu Bania on the innocent Kashmiris. They called upon the United Nation to take notice of the oppression of the Indian and implement its resolution regarding holding of plebiscite to liberate them.
