Rawalpindi - The seminary student, who had sustained multiple bullet injuries during an armed attack on religious cleric of Darul Aloom Taleem-ul-Quran Mufti Amanullah at Dhamial Road, succumbed to his injuries at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital here on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Maulana Mehmood Azhar, 23, a student of Hadith in DATQ. The doctors handed over the dead body to his relatives after conducting post-mortem.
Maulana Mehmood Azhar, who got injured during armed attack on Mufti Amanullah of DATQ by unknown assailants at Dhamial Road last Sunday, was brought to DHQ where he was admitted in the ICU. However, he succumbed to injuries. The dead body of Maulana Mehmood Azhar, later, was transported to his native town Awan Wala (Bhakkar) where his funeral prayer was held.
The funeral prayer was attended by DATQ Chief Cleric Maulana Ashraf Ali, JUI-F former provincial ameer Maulana Muhammad Abdullah, Maulana Aaun Al-Khaliq, Maulana Nazir and many other notables of the area.
