Pakistan playing key role in terror war, says Munter

QUETTA - Appreciating Pakistans role in war against terror, US Ambassador Cameron Munter conceded that Pakistan was playing a key role in the war. Talking to Speaker Balochistan Assembly Muhammad Aslam Bhootani in his chamber here Thursday, the US envoy said besides Kerry Lugar Bill, America was taking steps for economic development of Pakistan. Later, talking to journalists, Muhammad Aslam Bhootani said it was the first visit of US ambassador to Balochistan and added that they discussed Balochistan political situation and development activities in the province. The parliamentary leaders of parties in Balochistan Assembly were also present on this occasion. They briefed the US envoy about the problems being faced by the province in education and health sectors besides stressing for assistance for construction of maximum dams to solve water problem. US ambassador Cameron Munter said Pakistan Army was committed to eliminating terrorism and the US had always acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army and people to defeat terrorists. He said that the people of Balochistan were patriots and their problems should be solved in accordance with the constitution.
