COAS off to Saudi Arabia for war games

ISLAMABAD - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif left Monday for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a two-day official visit on the invitation of Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud.
According to a press release issued by the ISPR, the COAS along with the king of Bahrain, the crown prince of UAE, the prime minister of Jordan and other military commanders from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will witness the Saudi military exercises on April 29. The military exercises codenamed “Sword of Abdullah” are said to be the largest in the history of Saudi Arabia.
Different branches of the army and divisions of internal and homeland security with 100,000 personnel will be involved in the military exercises.  The COAS was seen off at Noor Khan Airbase by senior military officials.
