Government does not stand with the parliament: Khurshid Shah

Islamabad: Opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA), Syed Khurshid Shah, has said in NA that parliament is with government at present but government is not with parliament.

“Today the parliament stands with the government but the government does not stand with the parliament”, he said while speaking in the NA today.

“It is a matter of regret that no minister is present in the NA to reply to opposition questions. “The government should make it binding on ministers to come to the house so that its proceeding could be improved,” he stressed.

He stated that the Chief whip of government has resigned twice due to the attitude of the ministers. He further added that when the opposition raises its voice and creates an issue, the government complains that it is not allowed to work, he added.

“The Privatization process is going to end at the international level but the government is suppressing the rights of laborers in the name of deregulation,” he underlined, "The government sold out shares of HBL and rendered the laborers jobless but we still want to fortify  the parliament .”

He regretted that the government is going to postpone  the matter of  NFC award for one year. He emphasized on the fact that the government should convene meetings and solicit proposals from the provinces on NFC award, he suggested.

Federal minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the recruitment of 5000 fake laborers was made during the PPP led government in PIA due to which this entity was ruined.

He said that international media reports in connection with Pak-China  economic corridor  are highly positive.

“This is real change,” he added.

He further stated that not only Chinese investment will come to Pakistan but that Japan and European countries will also start investing in Pakistan.
