LAHORE - Ruling family will speak the truth about the Panama leaks before the PTI marches on Raiwind, hopes Imran Khan.
He addressed party leaders and workers at chairman secretariat yesterday after a party meeting to review preparations for May 1 Charing Cross protest for an independent probe commission on Panama Papers.
“All the parties of the opposition are on one page for an investigation commission on Panama leaks under Chief Justice of Pakistan. It will be wise for the ruling family to speak the truth about the leaks before we launch a march towards Raiwind,” said PTI chairman.
“The ruling family is involved in four crimes of high category which include corruption, tax evasion, assets concealment and money-laundering. The commissions (kickbacks) acquired from Metro Train will land in offshore companies through money-laundering,” he alleged.
Corruption to the tune of Rs12 billion has been made per day. The incumbent government had received the highest level of loans in the last three years, claimed Mr Khan.
The accountability must be started from the ruling family followed by other political parties and other segments of the society. PTI leadership is ready to present them for accountability but the ruling family should come first in the line, he demanded.
“The protest on May 1 at Chairing Cross for a transparent probe into Panama leaks is just a dress rehearsal for march on Raiwind,” he claimed.
The ruling party is running a propaganda campaign against its opponents using public money to cover the ruling family’s name in Panama affair, maintained Mr Khan.
The international journalist resource consortium had rejected the reports that the name of the ruling family was mistakenly included in the Panama leaks, he added.
The farmers which fall in the largest economy group of the country are selling their lands because they are failing to meet the high costs of the farming because of unfriendly farmer policies of the ruling party, he added. The prime minister ran away from the provincial capital to address a public meeting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where he announced a single gas project for the fourth time, claimed Imran Khan. The party leaders and workers gave a “big laughter” when Khan said Panama leaks had provided an opportunity to make peace among various groups of the party.
