ISLAMABAD - Saudi Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here at the PM House on Sunday night.
Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif was also present on the occasion.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud pledged to further enhance the bilateral ties between the two brotherly countries and strengthen their cooperation in diverse fields.
Both the leaders discussed issues of mutual interest at regional and international levels.
According to a private TV channel, both the two leaders also held a one-on-one meeting after the dinner.
Earlier, the Prime Minister warmly received Saudi Defence Minister and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz here at the Prime Minister House.
A number of federal ministers and other high officials were present on the occasion.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the airport on a two-day official visit of Paksitan, the Saudi Prince was received by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, high ranking officials and members of Saudi Embassy in Pakistan.
This is the second visit of the Saudi defence minister to Islamabad. He had earlier visited Pakistan in January this year.
Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud, the son of Saudi King Salman, is considered as one of the most influential men in the country. He is the second deputy prime minister and the youngest minister of defence in the world.
