KURRAM AGENCY : A woman was killed and two others sustained injuries when one of them stepped on a roadside planted landmine in Upper Kurram Agency on Tuesday. According to the political administration of the agency, unknown miscreants had planted two landmines on along a roadside in the Sarsarang area of Upper Kurram near the Pak-Afghan border. Three women, who were walking on the road, struck the mines, which exploded and resultantly one woman, who is stated to be wife of Talib Din was killed and her two daughters sustained injuries.
It has also been reported that the three women were on their way towards a field when one of them stepped on the landmine. The official stated that the woman succumbed to her injuries on the way to hospital in Lower Kurram Agency. The other two were shifted to a hospital in Hangu.
Following the incident, the political administration in the area cordoned off the site of explosion and a search operation went underway.
