Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Deputy Secretary General Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi has said that protection of physical and ideological frontiers of Pakistan is integral part of faith of Shias and they will continue to discharge this obligation.
Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, he added that surge in terrorism in the country was highly alarming and the government should adopt strict measures to crush the terrorists. “Despite facing worst ever terrorism and being forced to lift the bodies of our loved ones, we haven’t taken any extra-constitutional steps,” he added. He said that despite facing terrorism in Quetta, Karachi, Gilgit, Parachanar, Lahore and Rawalpindi, the MWM always talked about peace. He said that the MWM would continue to play its role for the security, solidarity and progress of the country.
He declared that all peace-loving patriot forces were on the same page against the terrorists. “God Willing, we’ll uproot the menace of terrorism from the country through our unity,” he asserted.
SPELLING COMPETITION: A spelling competition titled Spellathon was held at Govt Muslim Boys High School with participants from seven government schools in the run here the other day.
The competition was divided into four rounds and students of Govt. Muslim Girls High School won the laurel after a very tough competition.
The competition was held in connection with English Access Micro scholarship Program (Access Program) launched by a non-government organization IRDO (Indus Research and Development Organization).
The programme provides a foundation of English language to talented 14 to 18 year-olds from economically disadvantaged sectors through after school classes and intensive summer activities. The purpose of Access program is not only to make students proficient speakers of English Language only but to make them productive citizens as well. In order to achieve this objective, different competitions are organized amongst students on regular basis.
At the end of the program, Dr Naveed Chaudhry from Bahauddin Zakariya University distributed prizes amongst the winners.
