MANDI BAHAUDDIN - Two persons fled away with tens of millions of rupees collected from shopkeepers, farmers and local residents as down payment fraudulently for purchase of tractors, cars and vans on easy installments. Reportedly, Ashraf Rana and Sajid Mahmood opened an office with the name of Almezan Auto Plant Corporation at Punjab Centre Building here sometime age. They started business of booking tractors, cars and vans on receiving down payment from farmers, shopkeepers and local residents and collected tens of millions of rupees from them in this regard. They invited those persons who had made down payment to receive delivery order for their vehicles at a local hotel the other day. When the people arrived Ashraf Rana and his colleague Sajid were found absent at the venue. People tried to contact them but their cellphones were found off. On checking, the corporation was found fake and unregistered. It is an unprecedented incident of fraud in the history of Mandi Bahauddin.
