PESHAWAR – Conspiracies, being hatched by a few persons within the party, would be foiled at all, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, leader Arbab Khizar Hayat Khan said on Saturday.
Talking to TheNation, he said the PML-N senior members were the party assets, adding that the party workers were fully united under their leadership. “I will be the first person to resign from the party in protest, if PML-N, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, President Pir Sabir Shah is removed from the party office.”
The conspirators would get nothing, as the party leadership and workers were well aware of the sacrifices of Pir Sabir Shah and Mehtab Abbassi for the party, he said, adding that the party workers would not accept any decision leading to removal of Pir Sabir Shah from the party’s provincial presidentship.
Accusing a close relative of PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif of hatching conspiracies against the provincial leadership of the party, Arbab Khizar Hayat Khan said that Youth Wing was a sister organisation of the party, which worked under the leadership of the provincial president of the same party.
He alleged that a particular lobby, which most recently joined the party, had been trying from the day one to get Pir Sabir Shah removed and replace him as a provincial president. He affirmed that the said lobby would never succeed.
Arbab Khizar Hayat said the sitting provincial cabinet had full confidence in the provincial president and his other colleagues. He said if Pir Sabir Shah was removed from his office, he would be the first person to resign from the party in protest.
He observed that PML-N had deep roots among masses and all its decisions were made after consultations with the party leadership and workers. He said he condemned statements against PML-N KPK President Pir Sabir Shah and Mehtab Abbassi by ‘certain quarters’ within the party. He demanded of the party Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif to immediately take serious notice of such statements. He said if the party chief did not take any notice of the statements, it would further deepen the differences within party leaders. He said that general elections were nearing so it was not in the best interest of the party and its workers to have differences at this stage.
