For the second time in the history of Azad Jammu Kashmir, 10 more hearing impaired special students of the local NGO-run Kashmir Institute of special Education (KISE) have secured distinction by obtaining grade ‘A’ in the annual Secondary School Certificate Examination (Matriculation) - 2013, held under the auspices of AJK Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education.
The hearing impaired students of a local institution of special education had appeared in the annual matriculation examination - 2013. The triumphant hearing impaired students of KISE have broken all the previous record by giving 100 percent results with highest 795 out of total of 1050 marks secured atop the special students in the examination across AJK, disclosed Director of Kashmir Institutive of Special Education (KISE) Mirpur Dr Amjad Insari. Talking to this scribe here, he said that the hearing impaired special children (both boys and girls), belong to his institute for special education, were entertained by the AJK BISE as regular candidates for appearing in the annual matriculation examination - side by side the normal students.
“The Board of Governors of the AJK BISE had accorded formal approval allowing the appearance of the aforesaid hearing impaired special children of the KISE in the matriculation examination, Dr Insari said.
He pointed out that special question papers for these special students were inked in line with the required stipulated criteria set due to the untiring collective efforts by a high power committee comprising leading academics including AJK BISE Chairman Prof Muhammad Afzal Mirza, Secretary Prof Zaheer Chaudhry, Controller Examination (Schools) and other senior officials concerned.
KISE is running under the auspices of a local well reputed NGO Insari Welfare Trust for the dispensation of free quality education and training to the special children including mentally retarded, deaf and dumb - with prime focus to make them useful citizens of the country side by side the normal people.
KISE Director Dr Amjad Insari thanked the AJK BISE BoD for permitting special children to appearing in the matriculation and intermediate examinations.
