Blast damages trader’s house

PESHAWAR: A house was partially damaged when a remote control device exploded in Tauheed Abad area of Peshawar in the early hours of Saturday.
Police said the explosive device was planted by unknown persons near the house of a local trader Noroz who was repeatedly being threatened by extortionists.
The blast caused fear and panic in the area and large number of people came out of their house to examine the location. The blast also partially damaged the front portion of the house, however, no human casualties were reported.–Staff Reporter
Police and bomb disposal squad immediately reached the blast site and cordoned off the area. As per the bomb disposal squad the explosive device was weighting about 500 grams and its target was the house of Noor Zada.
Noroz told the police that he was threatened by unknown persons via telephone for giving huge amount of extortion, which he refused.
Police registered FIR and started investigation.
