ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan ambassador to the US and PPP leader, Sherry Rehman has urged the government to penalize those who refuse the administration of anti polio drops to their kids.
Rehman on Sunday wrote on social media website, Twitter, that the government should consider declaring polio emergency in the country.
She tweeted, “As 4 more polio cases take up Pakistan's total to 88, the government should consider a polio emergency, penalizing vaccine refusals.”
It is pertinent to mention here that many people in the country are refusing the anti polio vaccination to their children. Scores of Pakistanis have been distrustful of anti-polio drives, fearing they were a plot to sterilize them.
