Law doesn’t permit to free any murderer: Rehman Malik

KARACHI- Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik said, the Taliban’s demand for release of prisoners is creating an impression of negotiations being held between two states.

Malik talking to journalists said, those who are calling for a prisoner release should keep in mind that the law does not permit the release of killers. The former Interior Minister demanded a video of Shahbaz Taseer and Ali Gilani be released to prove that they were in the custody of the Taliban. Referring to the threatening letter to PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Rehman Malik said the Taliban and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) were not separate a entity and the letter sent to Bilawal was in violation of the Taliban-government accord. Everyone knows where the roots of LeJ are and Punjab government should investigate into the matter, he said. Talking about Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rehman Malik said that he would not like to divulge details of the talks held in London between Altaf Hussain and Asif Ali Zardari, but the alliance between the two parties was the need of the hour.
