Two cops killed in DI Khan ambush

PESHAWAR - Two policemen were killed and two others injured when some militants opened fire and attacked their mobile van with a rocket in Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday.
The policemen were patrolling Darabin area when they were attacked by the militants. During the attack, one personnel was killed and three others injured. The injured policemen were rushed to DHQ Hospital, DI Khan, where another policeman succumbed to his injuries during treatment. According to hospital sources, the other two injured policemen are out of danger.
The deceased cops were identified as Azam and Munir while injured ASI Abdul Sattar and Constable Shah Jahan.
Following the incident, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and launched a search operation to arrest the culprits. The attack has come at a time when security has been put on alert across the district ahead of scheduled local government elections on May 30.  Later, bodies of the cops were shifted to their native towns and buried at their ancestral graveyards.
