QUETTA – Two people including a Hazara community member were killed in separate incidents of firing in Quetta and Barkhan on Wednesday.
Unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a person at Circular Road here, killing him on the spot. The body was shifted to Combined Military Hospital for medico-legal formalities and the deceased was identified as Hussain Ali Hazara.
The assailants, however, managed to flee from the scene.
The police said the incident appeared to be a case of sectarian killing. However, further investigation is underway. No group has claimed responsibility of the killing so far.
In another incident, armed persons shot dead a man in Barkhan. The victim was identified as Nadeem Jan. As usual, the killers fled away.
Moreover, on a tip-off, police recovered a body from Old Bus Stop, Machh. The body was shifted to a state-run hospital for autopsy where the victim was identified as Ejaz. A case has been registered against unidentified accused and further investigation is underway.
