KHYBER AGENCY - Polio supervisors held an important meeting at Agency Headquarter Hospital Landi Kotal here on Friday in which they unanimously decided to boycott the upcoming polio vaccination campaign in the area scheduled to take place on 1st December on the issue of non-payment of their dues of earlier campaigns.
The supervisors committee was of the view that until their dues and arrears of the former five campaigns are not paid, they would boycott the upcoming polio campaign from 1st December. The total pending dues are more than five million rupees, they informed. They also alleged the Landi Kotal based political administration of not taking notice of their application that they had already submitted with APA Landi Kotal. When Agency Surgeon Dr. Qasam Afridi was contacted he said, arrears of the previous five campaigns are not only their problem but it is a provincial and Fata level problem. He said that now the campaign would begin from 8th December, saying that prior training was imperative which couldn't be conducted amid the boycott decision of the supervisors at Landi Kotal.
