14 arrested for attacks on police officials in Peshawar search operation

PESHAWAR: The police arrested, fourteen suspects including four culprits involved in attacks and murder of police personnel during a crackdown here on Sunday.

SSP Operations, Dr. Saeed said that on a tip-off, police conducted operation against outlaws in Armar area of the provincial capital Peshawar during which four culprits involved in attacks on police personnel were arrested.

The SSP said that the nabbed accused had attacked police in September during which three policemen were martyred and seven others were critically wounded. They were also wanted by various police stations in a number of criminal cases.

The  Security forces on Sunday also  conducted a search operation and detained 10 suspects including six Afghans from Hassan Ghari, Machni Gate sites in Peshawar.

Operation was conducted on home to home basis and more than 250 houses were searched. All the suspects have been shifted to unknown place for further investigations. Police spokesman told media that lethal weapons and ammunitions have been recovered from the possession of suspects.

This operation has been conducted on information provided by the intelligence agencies on presence of Taliban’s suspects. All the entering and exit points had been closed during the search operation.
