It is the moral and religious duty of every Muslim to invest his energy and strive for maintaining harmony and peace by shunning petty differences, especially in the upcoming sacred month of Muharramul Haram.
All traditional license-holders’ processions and majalis of Muharram will be held accordingly but it will be the bounden duty of the organisers to inform the administration prior any such event.
Jhang DPO Zeshan Asghar stated while addressing a meeting here on Monday.
The meeting was attended by members of peace committee, Anjuman-e-license-holders of Tazia and Zuljinah, members of CPLC and all SDPOs of the district.
The DPO described that a code of conducted had been issued for all participants of processions and mourners. He emphasised on the organisers to arrange Majalis and procession walled areas keeping in view the prevailing security situation. He pointed out that unfair use of loudspeakers was strictly banned and violators would be dealt strictly. No one will be allowed to hurt peace and police are making all out efforts to provide security to people,” he elaborated, adding that cooperation of all schools of thought was of prime importance to thwart any attempt aimed at disturbing peace.
He appealed to Ulema to avoid furious speeches and preach tolerance and patience to promote harmony, brotherhood, unity and peace. It is the duty of all organizers to avoid inviting banned Zakrins and Ulema. In the night programme organisers should do alternate arrangements in case of loadshedding. The DPO declared that a ban had been imposed on distribution of objectionable printed material and playing of cassettes or CDs containing hatred speeches. He directed officials concerned to carry out survey of routes of Muharram processions and hold meeting with the organizers. The DPO informed that 464 mourning processions would be taken out throughout the district out of which 184 processions were licence holders while 280 processions were traditional.
In Sahwial, Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen Peace Committee President Syed Ziaullah Shah Bukhari said that International powers were hell bent-on destabilising Pakistan while agents of the enemy were posing a real threat to sovereignty, safety and integrity of the country. He said that leaders as well as members of all schools of thoughts i.e Shia, Sunni, Deobandi and Ahle Haditt had cordial relations with each other in the district and there was no rift among them regarding peace and tranquillity. He was addressing a meeting of peace committee held to review arrangements for security and harmony during the upcoming month of Muharramul Haram.
He emphasised that peace committees can play pivotal role in maintaining peace in the society. He said that all religious scholars from all schools of thoughts should preach peace and brotherhood and improve cooperation to thwart the enemies designs by maintaining harmony and peace.
