JUI-F leader Qari Javed Iqbal was gunned down by some unidentified assailants near chak 86 on GT Road here on Saturday.
He was the way back Chak IL/134 from chak IR/65 in his car along with his brother and two nephews after attending certificate distribution ceremony. Meanwhile, three unidentified assailants opened fire on the car near Eastern Bypass, killing Qari Javed Iqbal and damaging the car completely. His brother Talib Hussain and two nephews survived miraculously.  Hundreds of people rushed to the scene and blocked the road. They placed the dead body on the road and voiced strong protest.
