Plan to compensate flood-hit Shorkot villages afoot

The Punjab government has introduced a policy, which help entitle families of at least four flood-hit union councils in Shorkot to cash compensation.
In the first phase, Rs25,000 will be provided to each affected family prior to Eidul Azha and in the second phase, each family affected from 25 to 39 percent will get Rs20,000 after Eid while the same amount will be disbursed to each family affected which had suffered at least 24 percent losses in the third phase.
This was stated by MPA Khalid Ghani Chaudhry while talking to the media here the other day. He said that the flood-affected people of four union councils of Shorkot would be encamp in High School for Boys Shorkot from Monday to October 3. He said that transport will be provided to them and food and other relief goods would be distributed to them.
Nadra team will also be at the venue for verification of each affected family if one don’t have an identity card his or her verification will made from Numberdar of the respective area, he pointed out, adding that each affected family would get Rs25,000 compensation before Eidul Azha so that they could celebrate religious festival in a befitting manner.
On the occasion, Shorkot AC Ahmed Nawaz Gondal informed that 40 Mauzas/villages across the tehsil had been affected by the recent flood, adding that six teams were busy conducting survey of the affected families.
