Cabinet to discuss Kashmir crisis on Friday

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the federal cabinet Friday that, apart from the regular agenda items, would discuss the situation in Indian-held Kashmir.

On the prime minister’s directives, the first agenda item of the cabinet meeting will be discussion on the situation in held Kashmir, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) visit and his (PM) bilateral meetings with world leaders in New York.

Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry will brief the cabinet on the situation in Indian-held Kashmir, a statement issued by the PM House said.

According to the statement, the prime minister was being briefed regularly on the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) by the security institutions.

Adviser on National Security Nasser Khan Janjua also submitted a comprehensive report on the LoC situation to the PM office.

Prime Minister Nawaz expressed his satisfaction on the level of preparedness of Pakistani armed forces to match any provocation by Indian security forces.
