LAHORE- An outbreak of polio is feared in Lahore, after environmental samples of sewerage system have been tested positive for polio virus.
According to Provincial Health Department officials, the government has decided to launch urgent anti-polio drive from May 5, 2014 in 73 Union Councils. The report came hours after WHO said Pakistan risked travel ban due to spread of polio virus in the country. It is pertinent to mention here that fifty-six polio cases had been reported so far this year, 5 only yesterday in troubled areas of North Waziristan Agency.
