PML-N wins NA-267 by-poll

QUETTA - Nawabzada Khalid Hussain Magsi of Pakistan Muslim League-N has won the by-elections for NA-267, Kachhi-cum-Bolan seat by clinching 29,631 votes while the runner up, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate, Sardar Yar Muhammad Khan received 19,523 votes.

The Provincial Election Commission of Balochistan announced the formal results, here on Friday.

A statement issued by the Provincial Election Commission Balochistan, the Provincial Election Commissioner, Syed Sultan Bayazeed said that according to formal but not final results of all 165 polling stations of by-polls held at seat NA-267, Kachhi-cum-Bolan, Nawabzada Khalid Hussain Magsi of PML-N remained winner by clinching 29,631 votes while the runner up was Sardar Yar Muhammad Khan of PTI who got 19,523 votes.

Meanwhile, Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, Syed Sultan Bayazeed said that the election process was completed in a fully peaceful environment.

No untoward incident was reported and all election process was completed in a peaceful environment, he said.

He passed special thanks to the Pak Army, Frontier Corps, Police and Levies Force for special deployment in and around polling stations which ensured peace and law and order.

Credit goes to our Army and law-enforcement agencies who played important role in ensuring peace and order which helped in holding of free and transparent elections, he said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday congratulated the PML-N candidate, Khalid Magsi on his victory in the NA-267 by-election.

He said that it was not just the success of PML-N but victory of the people of Balochistan and brighter Pakistan.

"It is the victory of efforts for bringing peace in Balochistan. It is the victory of continued journey of progress and prosperity in Balochistan, It is the victory of upcoming fruits of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor in Balochistan," the Prime Minister maintained.

Nawaz Sharif said that the victory of PML-N candidate in the by-election of NA-267 was the defeat of those elements who wanted to create hurdles in the way of Pakistan's development and push the country towards darkness.

By giving their verdict in the favour of PML-N candidate, the people of Balochistan have given a clear message to those elements that they would foil the conspiracies, he said.
