Police resolve kidnapping-cum murder mystery

The City Police resolved nine-month long mystery of kidnapping-cum-murder case of a local truck driver.
DSP Malik Lal Muhammad Khokhar told the media that Kubra Bibi with the help of her two accomplices had kidnapped her 25-year-old paramour Muhammad Arif alias Mithu from Hajipura locality on November 11, 2012 (nine months ago).
The DSP said that the police investigated the case on scientific line and traced out accused Kubra Bibi, Abdul Sattar alias Tehni and Maulavi Farooq.
He said that the accused confessed that she had killed her paramour Muhammad Arif alias Mithu by giving him poison in meal with the help of her Abdual Sattar and Maulavi Farooq over a money dispute and later, buried his body in the basement of under construction house of Maulavi Farooq in Hajipura locality.
The police and activists of local NGO “Young Blood Foundation Daska”, recovered the body from the basement. The police shifted the body to Civil Hospital for autopsy.
585,841 vaccinated: As many as 585,841 children under the age of five years were administered anti-polio vaccine across the district during the three-day anti-polio vaccination campaign.  District Health Officer Dr Javed Warraich disclosed this while talking to newsmen here the other day. He said that the District Health Department had achieved 100 percent target of vaccination of children in the district.
Gas, power theft: The district administration has detected gas and electricity theft worth millions of rupees during its on-going campaign against gas and electricity pilferers across the district.
DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu told the reporters that special teams of the district administration conducted 69 raids in various places in all the four tehsils of the district.
The DCO revealed that the police arrested 58 accused and had registered 72 separate cases against them.
