PPP sidelines Bilawal's close aides

ISLAMABAD  - Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has banned the entry of close aides of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in party meetings, Bilawal House, Zardari House and PPP secretariats on the reports of misusing his name, The Nation has learnt.
Well-placed sources informed this scribe that on the direction of Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardrai and senior party leader Faryal Talpur, security in charge of Bilawal House and Zardari House, Col (r) Babar, banned the entry of close associates of Bilawal including Hashaam Riaz Sheikh, Shakeeb Ahmad Qureshi, Fakhre Alam, Ishaq Baloch and Naseer Obro in both the houses and party meetings and secretariats across the country.
Babar instructed the security guards of both the houses and PPP secretariat not to allow these people to enter the said premises if they try to meet the Chairman without getting permission.
Zardari is living in Bilawal House and his sister Faryal Talpur resides in Zardrai House, Karachi.
The sources mentioned that Hashaam Riaz Shiekh was working as Chief of Staff to PPP Chairman Bilwal Bhutto Zardari and he was very much close to Bilawal, and others were also in close circle of the PPP's young chairman.
The party took the action on the complaints of several party leaders because they had sent several requests to Hashaam Riaz for meeting with the party Chairman but Hashaam did not inform the Chairman regarding these requests.
Hashaam even kept cordoning off the Chairman from the senior leadership including cabinet members of former government as they were not being allowed to meet the Chairman.
Hashaam misused the name of PPP Chairman and used the influence in different provincial ministries affairs, the sources claimed.
The sources mentioned that Hashaam had alliance with Shakeeb Qureshi and attended the high level meetings of Sindh government and they had good influence in bureaucracy of Sindh as well.
Shakeeb had also served as head of Board of Revenue of Sindh in the last tenure of PPP and was main co-accused with Asif Zardari in the Murtaza Bhutto murder case.
The sources said that Bilawal also took notice of his close associates alleged involvement in corruption while using his name in different government decisions and endorsed the party's recent decision regarding them.
Talking to The Nation, a senior leader of PPP confirmed the removal of Hashaam from his post.
He said that he did not see Hashaam, Qureshi and others on the occasion of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's 7th death anniversary on December 27th.
Hashaam is son of senior leader of PPP Punjab, Ahmad Riaz Shiekh, and fiancé of Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh Sharmila Farooqi. Ahmad Riaz Shiekh and his other family members were also absent on the BB's death anniversary. The Nation tried to contact Hasham Riaz on phone and also sent text messages for his official version but he did not respond to the calls and text messages.
