PM promises justice to MQM

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned a high-level meeting in Karachi today (Friday) to discuss the overall law and order situation in the port city in the backdrop of reservations expressed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement regarding killing of its workers and activists.
According to Prime Minister’s House, the meeting to be held at Governor’s House would also review the pace of implementation on the National Action Plan.
The leaders belonging to various political parties would also be participating in the meeting followed by the official briefing to the prime minister on law and order situation.
Prime Minister would separately hold a meeting with MQM leadership to listen to their grievances and the investigation report on the killing of MQM worker Sohail Ahmed.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister rang up MQM Senator Babar Ghauri and condole the killings of party activist.
The prime minster informed Ghuari that he would be coming to Karachi today (Friday) to overview the situation.
He said an urgent meeting had been called at the Governor’s House as situation of the largest metropolis was turning worse.
Nawaz Sharif said he would have meeting with MQM slain worker Sohail’s family and added that the culprits of his murder would be brought to book.
Following the funeral prayers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker, shops and petrol pumps were forced to shut in the port city. The MQM unit in charge Sohail Ahmed’s dead body was recovered from Baldia Town area Mochko on Wednesday.
Agencies add: The prime minister said he would bring to justice those involved in the killing of slain MQM worker Sohail Ahmed.
The MQM observed mourning day on Thursday in Sindh against the killing of its worker, Sohail Ahmed. Businesses and schools remained closed in several cities, including Karachi, Hayderabad and Sukkur.
