CPNE concerned over hurdles in newspapers transportation

KARACHI (PR) Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) President Jameel Athar Qazi, Secretary General Alyas Shakar, Joint Secretary Javed Mehr Shamsi and Finance Secretary Mushtaq Ahmad Qureshi have expressed great concern over the news appearing in the media that some handful of elements in Sindh want to deprive the people of their due right to have an access to information by putting hurdles in transportation and sale of Urdu newspapers. In a joint statement issued on Friday, the CPNE office-bearers appealed to the Sindh governor, federal interior minister and provincial interior and information ministers to immediately take notice of the situation and issue instructions to the district authorities to make the transportation and sale of the Urdu dailies sure in all parts of Sindh. The CPNE assured its full cooperation to all newspapers hawkers and the Akhbar Farosh Federation in getting their problems solved.
