Embassies patronize brothels in Islamabad: Nisar

Islamabad: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that certain embassies were patronizing brothels in Islamabad.

While speaking during a question-hour session in National Assembly (NA) today, the interior minister said that big names were involved in the flesh business and immoral activities. If the house allowed him, he could produce a list in the assembly about the people allegedly involved in the business.

“Dozens of women involved in illegal and immoral activities, have been taken into custody in Islamabad. Foreigners land in the country and obtain passports and identity cards, before indulging in such activities. Foreigner women have been living in Islamabad and Rawalpindi illegally for the last 20 years” he said.

He told the house that millions of foreign nationals were settled in Pakistan illegally and policy was being worked out, to take action against them. “We are bringing a new policy on the ECL, security agencies, visas and weapon licenses,” he said.

He said that some private security agencies operating in Islamabad were absolutely fraud which has been involved in hiring persons, who cannot even use arms and hold gun. “Anti-social elements are also included in these agencies and registration of six private security agencies has been cancelled, so far for violating rules and regulations.”

He said that the government was ready to impart free training to private security agencies, soon consultation would be made with provincial governments on private security agencies, NGOs and other matters.

Nisar told the house that road beggars including 1223 male, 670 female, 1198 boys, 1178 girls and 49 eunuchs were arrested in Islamabad, during the last six months. They all have been sent to Edhi and Child protection centers. All the beggars have been scrutinized and who were needy were being provided assistance through NGOs.

“There is need to set up passport offices in all over the country,” he said. Work in this regard was under way and the house will be informed about it in next two weeks.

He told the house that six foreign nationals had been executed for their involvement in drug trafficking. About security situation in Karachi, he said that target killings have declined by 43 per cent while 58,603 criminals, 517 extortionists, 118 kidnappers and 630 proclaimed offenders have been arrested so far.
