ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday decided not to open corruption cases against Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
NAB officials state that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was unable to present any evidence of Dar’s involvement in corruption, therefore the application presented by the party was rejected.
NAB sources indicate that the institution does not take action upon a complaint against any individual without evidence. Furthermore, the institution was not authorised of reopening investigation which has been closed.
At the other hand, NAB has summoned former Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Ghauri and former State Minister Nabil Gabol next week.
Both ministers were alleged of being involved in unlawful appointments in the Karachi Port Trust and the illegal allotment of plots that resulted in a heavy blow to the country’s economy.
