RAWALPINDI  - Acting on the complaint of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), police on Saturday registered a case against the investigating officer of Police Station Gujar Khan for holding faulty investigation into the fake degree case by giving a ‘clean chit’ to PML-N MPA from Gujar Khan Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti.“The case number 409/13 under section 155/CD, was registered with the Police Station Gujar Khan on the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab (IGP), who wrote a letter to City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi asking him to take legal action against the accused IO,” informed sources on Saturday.Earlier, Police Station Gujar Khan had registered a criminal case against MPA Shaukat Aziz Bhatti on the complaint of the ECP for submitting fake degree, following the 2010 Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) verdict. An SI Asghar Ali was appointed as IO of the case who conducted wrong investigation into the case.However, during the entire course of investigation, police not a single time arrested the accused MPA, which also raised many eye brows and a serious question mark on the good governance of Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif.On the other hand, well-placed sources revealed that since police have filed a case against IO/Sub Inspector (SI) Asghar Ali, who launched investigation in the fake degree case, they have been receiving threats of dire consequences form PML-N MPA.According to SHO Police Station Gujar Khan Raja Musadiq, police filed a case against IO on the orders of IGP and CPO. He said that an Additional Session Judge (ASJ) of Gujar Khan took notice of the faulty investigation have been launched into the fake degree case on the complaint of a citizen and wrote ECP in this regard. The ECP wrote a letter to IGP informing him about the blunder and favoritism did by IO Asghar Ali with MPA in the investigation, SHO said adding that IGP then ordered CPO Rawalpindi to initiate criminal case against the IO. “Asghar Ali is still at large but soon will be in police custody” SHO claimed.Meanwhile, sources revealed that the recent move of SHO made PML-N MPA Shaukat Bhatti angry a lot that he vowed till Monday, Raja Musadiq will be no more SHO of Police Station Gujar Khan for his gross mistake of filing a case against the IO, who gave him (MPA) clean chit in fake degree case”. Sources said that this behaviour of MPA shattered the hope of CM Punjab of changing thana culture and promoting merit in the province. Despite repeated attempts, MPA Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti could not be approached for his comments.
