Islamabad - PIA has offered full support to Turkish Airlines in transporting their passengers disturbed due to flight diversions in the aftermath of terror incident at Istanbul airport early this morning, PIA spokesman said on Wednesday.
Expressing his grief and sorrow over the incident CEO PIA, Bernd Hildenbrand said, “We are deeply sorry for this tragedy and as Code Share partners with Turkish Airlines we are ready to extend our all-out support to them.”
Meanwhile, the govt of Pakistan also strongly condemned the terror attack at Ataturk airport in Turkish capital that killed 41 people and injured several hundred, terming it “mindless act of terrorism”.
A foreign ministry statement said: “We condemn this mindless act of terrorism in the strongest possible terms. We offer our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families and to the brotherly people and govt of Turkey.”
“We also pray for the speediest and fullest recovery of those wounded in this despicable attack,” it added.
The statement said Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations. “Like always, we stand in strong solidarity with the fraternal people of Turkey in their fight against terrorism. There is no doubt that this scourge would be decisively defeated with Turkey’s iron will and unshakeable resolve,” it said.
