Govt targeted over price hike

PESHAWAR – Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao (PPP-S), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, President Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Thursday criticised the government for its ‘inability’ to keep oil prices stable, saying that the prices increase was a threat to millions of the poor across the country.
He observed that everyone, including the government’s coalition partners, opposition and intelligentsia was criticising the government for increase in prices of oil. He said the government seemed to be indifferent to the plight of masses.
Addressing a public gathering at village Cheena of Tehsil Charsadda, he said the rulers had disappointed the masses and created unrest among them. He said the masses were already bearing the brunt of backbreaking inflation, unemployment and energy crises due to government faulty policies.
He also criticised the ANP-led provincial coalition and said the so-called champions of Pakhtuns’ rights did nothing for the people of the province during its four years of rule.
